IEEEXtreme 11.0

Competition description

This international competition is a 24h programming challenge in teams of a maximum of 3 students. The competition starts on Saturday night 2AM on the 14th of October and ends on Sunday night 2AM on the 15th of October. Via an on line web interface you receive problems that you have to solve. You write the solution in any of the available programming languages and submit this on the interface. Depending on the result you can continue to the next problem. Some problems are typical programming related, others are about logic or mathematical problems. This way it is useful to assemble a multi-disciplinary team!

I only know the basics of programming, is this competition interesting for me? Sure it is! You will succeed in solving the problems with your knowledge of Java or Python you learned in the first year of the Bachelors of Science in Engineering. It is not only about programming but also about solving problems itself. The problems are rated as easy, medium or hard difficulty.

What's in it for me? Besides the fact that you train and test your skills in programming, teamwork and endurance, you can also win some prizes! The first prize is a trip to an IEEE conference of your choice with all expenses paid. Click here for a complete description. Participation in this competition is a great entry on your résumé.
